My One2One personal tuition is tailored to meet your needs.

At the first session I will sit with you and, from discussion and examples of your work, shape with you a series of sessions to help you move on and develop as an artist.

Then we will work together to enable you to express yourself in your own personal way.

We will look at examples of paintings to understand how different moods and feelings are created through the use of colour tone shapes texture and all the elements of a painting. The principles of a paiting such as dominance, variety and rhythm, will be explained and the key to their application for successful paintings will be examined.

Each session lasts approximately two and one half hours and is typically separated by a week where you can practice at home. Normally there are five or six sessions after which painters with better understand what is rewarding for them and will have more confidence and skill to take their own direction.

I use watercolour but artists who use acrylic will have no problems. Artists should be familiar with their choosen medium but a comprehensive skills base is not required. However this course is not to teach technique but some new ideas on how to apply the paint are introduced to help you achive your goal. The main requirement is a drive to find out how you really want to paint - that is how to create your own personal painting .

I live in North West Surrey convenient to most areas in the South East of England. I can come to you if you wish.

I charge £40 per session plus travelling expenses if they are necessary.
