Hello Everyone,
I have some new work to show you but first a bit of background...
In May I went to Taos in New Mexico to paint with 5 tutors and 99 other painters. I just love it there and I have been before. I normally bring back a small shift in my work but this year it was a big shift. My work is still about how I feel and always will be but the difference this time is in the way I present the feeling.
Whilst driving across the desert I passed through small towns and I was struck by how the recession has hit them. These once prosperous places are somehow empty now - that impression has lingered in my mind and appears in my paintings.
And my flying days are appearing more strongly too. Somehow the vast space taken up by runways and taxiways which are often empty, resosonate a similar feeling to those towns in Arizona.
All the images in my brain get a bit mixed up and I don't aim to paint runways towns or any such thing, but somehow they just appear in some of them. Anyway please take a look -
I hope you enjoyed them.
Very best wishes,
